Ah! Villa has a sandy middle-of-the-beach location facing beautiful South Akumal Bay and the Caribbean. A short limestone walkway lined with Royal palms leads to the villa's elegant wrought iron front doors. Inside is a circular entrance foyer with a cathedral ceiling, palapa topped roof and tropical wicker high-back chairs. A powder room is to the left and dual winding staircases are on either side, leading to the upper level bedrooms.
Everything is on the beach side of the villa, including all primary living spaces on the lower level, and all three bedrooms on the upper level. Just passed the circular entrance foyer, on the right, is a spacious living room comfortably furnished with plush wicker chairs and a built-in L-shaped couch that lines the entire back wall. A cabinet contains the entertainment center including: satellite TV, VCR, DVD player, stereo system with CD player and Wifi Internet. The living room has glass sliders overlooking the pool and beach beyond. Across from the living room, on the opposite side of the villa, is the dining room, bar area and kitchen. The dining room has the same marvelous view over the pool toward the beach. There is elegant seating for 10 people. A nicely equipped bar is just behind with wine refrigerator and black granite bar top. A beautifully hand carved/hand painted cabinet along with a floor vase and candles give the dining room warmth and local flair. The dining table can serve as a buffet table for casual dining. This is very convenient since the kitchen is on one side, and the beach, pool and outdoor living room are on the other side. The kitchen is fully equipped with top quality stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher), granite counters and an island with bars tools. The perfect kitchen for any gourmet chef or novice.
The outdoor living room is undoubtedly the heart of the villa, perfect for cocktail hour, casual dining or just relaxing. It sits on a peninsula surrounded by the pool, with the beach and Caribbean as the backdrop. The living room has beautiful padded teak wood couches and chairs with matching end tables. A central table is convenient for snacks and drinks, making this a perfect place to sit and chat in shade. A walkway changing to sand leads from the outdoor living room to the beach. The pool has a shallow area, heated jacuzzi and infinity edge cascade. There is a lower sun patio off the pool with chaise lounges which can also be carried out to the beach.
Three ocean view, air conditioned bedrooms are on the upper level of the villa, all with en-suite marble bathrooms and king sized beds. Each bedroom is exquisitely decorated in tropical patterns and textures that reflect the beauty of the Caribbean. All bedrooms have private balconies with padded seating. A detached air conditioned casita provides a fourth bedroom with a private bathroom and garden view balcony.
South Akumal is a quiet residential community that is perfect for a low-key vacation. The bay has a sheltering reef to block the surf, keeping the bay calm enough for snorkeling and kayaking. 2 kayaks are provided.
