Casa Laguna, named for its proximity to Laguna Yal ku in North Akumal, has a nice tranquil location at the end of a short sandy road that provides access to the lagoon front properties. While Casa Laguna is not directly on the main body of the lagoon, it is as close as you can get, only 100 feet away.
Comfortable living is a good description of this newly refurbished condo. It has a large main living space which includes the living room, dining room table and full kitchen in an open floor plan. The living room has a plush upholstered ensemble consisting of a couch, love seat and chair; plenty roomy to accommodate the four person maximum occupancy. The kitchen has a four burner stove/oven, full-size refrigerator, breakfast bar peninsula, plus the compulsory blender, toaster and coffee maker (a microwave will arrive soon). A slider off the dining area opens to a slice of the lagoon; a small body of water that provides a nice mangrove view.
There are two bedrooms with a shared bathroom between them. Each bedroom is air conditioned and has a king size bed, ample storage. One bedroom has a slider to the lagoon side of the condo.
The rooftop is two flights of stairs up. There is usually a nice breeze up there and always an excellent view west, over the mangrove. Yal ku can be seen to the north. Sunsets, moon watching and morning coffee are excellent on the rooftop.
Nearby is the main entrance to Yal ku lagoon, a two minute walk away. Posada Que Onda restaurant is just around the corner for excellent Italian food and homemade pasta. The convenience store at La Sirena is just as close for the basics, and 3 minutes by car will put you on Akumal beach.
