Inside the house The interior of Casa de Cielo is quite luxurious, decorated in a tasteful tropical style. The furnishings are colorful and comfortable giving the house an air of elegance and Mexican Caribbean charm. Casa de Cielo is fully air conditioned for your comfort and has approximately 5,000 square feet of space. There are 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms and a very generous living room with cathedral ceiling. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the major appliances and niceties like a Jennair stove, plus the essential microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, etc. A convenient breakfast counter is on one end of the kitchen between the kitchen and formal dining room.
Bedrooms, terraces and the roof There are two master suites upstairs and one downstairs, two with king size beds and one with two twins that can easily be pushed together to make a king. All have a Caribbean view and private terrace or patio. A fourth bedroom is upstairs on the garden side and has a queen size bed. The upstairs landing/studio serves as an entertainment room with a TV, VCR, DVD, love seat, two chairs and a table. From here a slider opens to a garden side exterior balcony. The other side of the landing overlooks the living room and picture windows facing the pool, dune greenery and beach. The multiple balconies, terraces and the cathedral ceiling over the living room give the house a spacious open air feel. And a sun deck on the roof provides an aerial view of South Akumal Bay and the Caribbean. The roof deck is a wonderful place for your first cup of coffee while watching the sunrise, or stargazing in the evening.
Outside and the beach Sliders that run the length of the house open onto the pool deck. The blue tile pool has an artistic turtle mosaic inlay and a large sand tanning area between the pool and beach. An opening between sea grape and coconut palms leads to sandy South Akumal beach and the surf line.
