If you are looking for a cozy place to getaway to, Casa Palapa is a perfect escape on a wide sandy beach, 20 minutes from Tulum or Playa del Carmen on Aventuras Akumal's south beach.
This is a comfortable house with a living room that has two couches, padded chair, coffee table, bookcase with reading materials, and a TV with DVD player (bring your favorite DVDs). There's a great view on the beach from the living room. A slider leads out on the beach side porch where a couple of chairs have a view out on the sand and Caribbean. There are several chaise lounges and a thatched roof palapa with two hammocks, great for sunrise, midday or dusk, with coconut palms to frame the view. During the day relaxing in the palapa or sunning on the chaises is a nice way to pass some time, or you can stroll north on Aventuras beach to the Oasis resort at the end. It is not unusual to see turtles on Aventuras Akumal beach from May through October. Because this is a major turtle nesting beach, please follow turtle protocol.
There are 3 beach side bedrooms all with air conditioning and private sliders to the 2nd level beach view terrace.
The master bedroom has a king size bed, private bathroom and a wonderful view of the sea. Breezes are fairly constant if you choose to turn off your AC and enjoy the sea air. There are night stands with nice reading lamps by each side of the bed, and a bureau for your personal effects, with side table nearby for your use.
The other 2 bedrooms have great views of the sea as well. The first has 2 double beds and the other 2 single beds. Ample closet space is provided for each bedroom behind solid mahogany doors. These 2 bedrooms share a bathroom.
A guest house efficiency apartment Casita Debita is on the property in front on the street, with king bed. Sleeps 2 people.
Getting out on the beach or just enjoying the view is definitely a daily activity on Aventuras beach, and there's great snorkeling on the north end. If you decide to see the local sights, like the ruins of Tulum and Coba, or do some activities like fishing, diving, or visiting area eco-parks, you'll find plenty to keep you busy. Then there's Tulum, Playa del Carmen and Akumal nearby to round out your vacation appetite for variety. In each there are great restaurants, shopping, tours and a lot more.
