The Playa Blanca condominiums have a central location on North Akumal's Half Moon Bay where the beach is widest and the sand is finest. If you are looking for sun, sea and sand you have found it. While it is true that foot protection is recommended for water entry anywhere on Half Moon Bay, the snorkeling is excellent, so you'll have your fins on anyway, right?
There is a sea view for each of these beach front condominiums with the most panoramic being from the penthouse units. 2nd level condos have an ocean view terrace just like the top level and beach level condos have a patio that opens directly onto the beach. All the condos and the casitas have a WiFi Internet connection.
The photos on this page are all taken from one of the penthouse units. The quality of furnishings in each condo is comparable with some allowance for the owners' personal taste. Regarding floor plans, one bedroom condos are actually a two bedroom condo with one of the bedrooms locked off.
The central living area includes a large living room and dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen off to the side. All face the ocean view creating a spacious area for dining, relaxing or entertaining. A glass window-wall spans the length of the main living space serving up an awesome view of Half Moon Bay and the Caribbean.
The kitchen has a four burner stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, and sufficient utensils and cookware for six people. A curved breakfast peninsula seats three making informal breakfasts a snap.
In the living room a built-in L shaped couch faces the sea view and beach. Closer to the windows is a round glass dining table with seating for four (six is doable). A glass slider opens to the ocean terrace, a great place to be anytime of day.
The bedrooms can number one, two or three depending on your reservation. The master bedroom is certainly the highlight, with a king bed, louvered windows that fold back to reveal the ocean view, ample storage, and a private master bath with a deluxe tub/shower and more louvered windows that fold back for the ocean view.
The 2nd bedroom, has one single and one double bed, and a private bathroom with a tub/shower that has a window facing the sea. There is a window facing the garden side to let light in the bedroom.
The 3rd bedroom has a separate entrance next door to the penthouse and is only included when 3 bedrooms are reserved. It's on the garden side of the building and is totally self-sufficient with a double bed, kitchenette, private bathroom with shower, and a exterior sitting area on the entrance terrace. This bedroom is perfect for young adults who can come and go as they please without entering the main part of the condo. The front door to this 3rd bedroom is about 25 feet from the main condo's entrance.
Out on the ocean view terrace (patio for the beach level condos) sunrises with coffee or sunsets with your favorite beverage are the stuff memories are made of. From inside the condo the view is exclusively of the bay and ocean, but outside the sweeping ribbon of white sand arcs north and south revealing all the activity on the beach. The ocean terrace is an excellent place for dining, relaxing or evening stargazing.
