La Buena Vida is a favorite watering hole/restaurant with a sand floor "swing bar", dive shop next door. The other way toward Yal-ku lagoon is La Lunita restaurant for excellent international cuisine inside and on the beach. Akumal Bay is the heart of town two kilometers south. There you will find more restaurants, gift shops, grocery stores, dive shops, just about anything you could need.
