anchored in at Xaac The Fat Cat --catamaran tour--

What to do on vacation? Enjoy the beach, do nothing or see the sights. Here's a fun day out on the Caribbean on a catamaran where rum punch, cerveza, soft drinks, snacks, snorkeling and more are all included.

We went and had a blast! on a perfect day with little wind and calm seas. The boat has twin outboard motors so wind is not an issue. You'll want to get there before 10:00 AM when the safety orientation starts. Around 10:15 the boat leaves the marina and sets sail headed south to the deserted beach at Xaac. The coastline is beautiful along the way with plenty of deserted beaches to see, fringed by green palms and the the Caribbean blue. Upon arrival the crew anchors in the sand and passengers are allowed to explore the beach area and snorkel the reef at Xaac. A small limestone ruin built by the Maya stands on a rock out-cropping, spitting the sandy beach that lies on either side. The Maya used this beach and others to land their canoes. From the time of the pre-Colombian Maya through the coming of the Spanish Conquistadors, the age of Caribbean piracy -to present; this unspoiled beach and this coastline are truly a part of history.
