Looking for a really nice condo, right in the middle of Playa del Carmen's main beach? Look no further. Corto Maltes is a perfect fit for one or two couples traveling together, or for a small family. Right in front is a beach front restaurant and a beach club of sorts where you can eat, drink and let the day drift by while gazing out on Playa's multi-hued blue Caribbean. It just doesn't get much better than this!
The condominiums are all on the second, third and fourth floors of the building, with either a full or partial beach/ocean view. There is elevator service to all floors so there is no need to climb stairs if you choose not to. Condominiums on the east end of the building have a full ocean view and a wider terrace that faces the sea directly. Interior condos have a smaller balcony with a partial sea view that is also very nice (see photo above right). Interiors are decorated according to the taste of each individual owner. All are deluxe with luxurious furnishings and top quality appliances.
Kitchens, dining and living rooms are unified in the main living space with the kitchen separated by a breakfast bar peninsula. Counter tops are granite and appliances are stainless steel. Kitchens are fully equipped with a stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, ample storage cabinets, and all the cutlery and place settings required for guests. The dining room can sit up to six people. Living rooms are elegant with comfortable sofas and chairs, satellite TV and DVD players.
Bedrooms are very elegant with a king size bed in the first bedroom, and a double bed or larger in the second bedroom. Bathrooms are a perfect match in style and quality, with granite or marble vanity tops, elegant bowl on top sinks, and smooth cut stone tiled showers with glass doors.
Every condo has an ocean view balcony and/or terrace with the ocean view maximized by the curved architecture of the building. Condo units on the east end of the building have a longer terrace that faces the sea and beach directly.
Finally, the beach in front is fine sand with no rocks, perfect for swimming or sunbathing. An independent restaurant in front has a bar and serves food to their beach front tables. Out on the sand are sun lounges, sun beds and usually an interesting group of sun worshipers from all over the world.
Nearby one block to the west is Playa del Carmen's famous 5th Avenue with restaurants, bars, bistros, gift shops, tour operators and all manner of tourist services.
