Discover Maroma Resort and Spa, located on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula along the Riviera Maya coastline, Maroma has been named "Mexican Hideaway of the Year" by Andrew Harper's Hideaway Report, the "World's Best Beach" by The Travel Channel, and was most recently honored with a Condé Nast Traveler "Reader's Choice" award.
Accommodations Maroma's authentic Maya sensibility is evident throughout the resort. Each building has been crafted by hand by the same family of Maya masons under the creative direction of founder and architect Jose Luis Moreno. Mr. Moreno's vision of paradise includes buildings full of curved lines, arched doorways, indigenous building products, windows that capture sunbeams, oversized tubs adorned with Mexican tiles, and carved lighting niches that define sensuality.
The resort is made up of several white stucco buildings two or three stories in height, each with thatched roof terraces to maximize views and privacy. Buildings are joined by winding stone pathways lined with lush plantings. Guests often comment how restful they find Maroma, each building has been purposefully aligned to the stars to ensure proper energy flow so that mind, body and spirit are at peace.
Maroma offers 66 rustically luxurious rooms and suites. All guestrooms offer ocean or garden views, and feature original art by resident artist Bertrand Castelli, hand-loomed bedding and rugs, private terraces with sofas and or double hammocks, bamboo shutters, telephone, in-room safes, high speed internet connection and CD players. Bathrooms are resplendent with toiletries and feature oversized tubs, hand-made and adorned with Mexican tiles, no two are alike.
