Puerto Morelos beach - Riviera Maya, Quintana Roo, Mexico
The beaches in Puerto Morelos (PM for short) are mostly natural and not maintained or manicured for the tourists, except where restaurants, hotels and private beach house owners choose to do so. This is a great town that still retains its heritage as a fishing village and is growing and changing constantly to accommodate the tourist trade. There is a nice beach in the center of town by Pelicanos restaurant, just off the zocalo (town square). The beach is cleaner here but sometimes with some eel grass washed up on shore. There are beaches north and south. Most are natural and some sections are raked and cleaned.
