Tankah Tres on the Riviera Maya is the exquisite location of Villa Gummerson. The area is the perfect vacation spot for anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature in a tropical paradise. The world' second largest reef which protects the bay provides a snorkelers dream as does the famous Manatee Cenote directly across the road from the villa.
Warm welcome and convenience Villa Gummerson is a privately owned home made available for rent only to those who love and respect natures delicate balance. The caretakers are a wonderful Mexican couple, Honorio and Silvia, who live in the casita next to the villa's courtyard. They provide daily maid service, grounds keeping and general maintenance. Their presence also provides security while the guests are out. A cook is also available with notice for an additional charge.
Inside Villa Gummerson features a magnificent open entryway with two skylight domes and a stairway leading to the inner balcony overlooking the first floor. There are three master bedrooms with king sized beds and one bedroom with two double beds. Each bedroom has a private bath, two of which have a giant tile tub, large shower area and double vanity. The other two bathrooms have tile showers and single vanities. A half bath is off the entry foyer. All bedrooms have oceanside balconies for enjoying the breathtaking view at sunrise and sunset. Or, enjoy a siesta in a hammock on the lower level patio. Every room in this magnificent home has a ceiling fan which aids the ocean breeze to provide a comfortable climate. Although they are seldom necessary, there are air conditioners in each of the bedrooms and in the kitchen.
Living room and kitchen The spacious kitchen has all the necessities. There is a dining counter and a beautifully furnished dining room for enjoying a simple snack or an elaborate meal. The comfortable living room features an entertainment armoire which houses a television and CD stereo/DVD player. Satellite service is provided.
Tankah Bay and nearby Although very quiet and private, Tankah Tres has two charming restaurant/bars a short walk from the villa. There is also a small gift shop which rents equipment for water sports. The area is well known for some of the world's best scuba diving as well as snorkeling. The pueblo of Tulum is approximately ten minutes south of Tankah Tres. It offers a wealth of native culture in its local restaurants and market place. The historic Tulum Ruins are something every visitor must see. 20 minutes drive north is the seaside town of Akumal and about 50 minutes north, the major tourist town of Playa del Carmen.
