Think about it. An international summer camp as part of the family summer vacation is a great for both you and the kids. First everyone comes to the Riviera Maya. Parents can send their kids off to Day Camp, while they create their own day camp on the beach, at cenotes, eco parks or archeology sites. Your kids will return at 4 pm giggling with new stories, adventures and understandings. The evenings are yet another adventure as a family bringing a wonderful balance to your family summer vacation.

Why try Riviera Maya Day Camps

Well let me count the why’s. First, day camp in the Riviera Maya is a much cheaper than up north. Depending on the day camp you choose, one week of day camp will cost you 90 USD to 300 USD. Second, you are exposing your children to an international culture that will build unforgettable experiences for them. The pressure is off the parents. Experiences are created without all the effort. Third, you are exposing them to unique activities and environments that you cannot find at home. Think scuba diving, kite boarding, jungle trekking and cenote swimming. There have been culinary camps for kids, insect camps, watersports camps, and horse back riding camps. The list is not endless, but it is very different from the camps you might have close to your house.

What we love most about this international opportunity is that parents can combine a vacation with summer camp. You are free during the day to explore or relax, while your kids are completely immersed in cool activities at day camp. This combo is glorious and I am not sure if I met a parent that does not like the idea.

How to access information about Riviera Maya summer camps

There are a few go-to-places that have summer camps schedules. Solexico is a Spanish Language school that offers part and full time spanish classes for your kids. Parque La Ceiba is a local eco school and community center that has ongoing summer programs for local and international kids. Their programs are focused on sustainability, art, the environment, and community. Playa Tennis in Playa del Carmen has annual summer camps for kids. If you find yourself in Puerto Morelos, the Cultural Center (Casa de Cultura) has a variety of art, language, dance, and creative camps for the kids.
