Delta Air Lines has unveiled an exciting travel upgrade for those keen on exploring Mexico's captivating Riviera Maya. As the first US airline to initiate direct flights to Tulum, Delta's move promises to significantly ease travel for many vacationers.
Presently, travelers heading to Tulum, Akumal, or Puerto Aventuras face road trips that can span from 1.5 to 3.5 hours upon landing at Cancun International Airport. Fortunately, changes are on the horizon. Starting December 2023, Mexican airlines are launching their own direct flights to Tulum from cities like Monterrey, Tijuana, Guadalajara, and Mexico City just in time for holiday travelers visiting the Yucatan.
Building on this momentum, Delta Air Lines is set to introduce its brand-new route to Tulum International Airport (TQO) on March 28, 2024. Guests visiting Riviera Maya's most sought after vacation rental destinations can avoid the traffic and drive from Cancun to Puerto Aventura, Akumal, Tankah, Soliman Bay, Sian Ka'an by flying into Tulum.
Those choosing to fly Delta can anticipate top-tier service. Flights will be onboard the Boeing 737-800, equipped with 16 sumptuous first-class recliners, 36 Comfort+ seats with extra legroom, and 108 standard economy seats, ensuring that journey to this slice of Mexican paradise is as enjoyable as possible.
