Akumal road s only 1.5 miles so based on the level of exercise you want to deploy on vacation you can easily move around town without a vehicle. Taxis can be found at the arch by the entrance in case you're looking to explore a little more of Riviera Maya during your trip. 

Jade Bay and Akumal Sur

These gated residential areas offer a more private and quiet retreat during your visit with some of the most gorgeous beaches in the area. Based on your pace Jade Bay is about a 10-20 minute walk from Akumal Bay and South Akumal is a good 30-40 minutes. Guests looking to enjoy their vacation at their beach rental can day trip to Akumal Bay on foot,  just be sure to wear study beach walking shoes as there are some rocky points on the way. Once you're in Akumal Bay you can always rent a golf cart for a day and ride over to Yal Ku Lagoon and Half Moon Bay. 

Aventuras Akumal, Soliman Bay, and Tankah Bay

These bays are known for having the best beaches offering a remote getaway for that Robinson/Crusoe experience. Centrally located between Tulum and Akumal guests staying here looking forward to exploring the area will definitely want to rent a car or plan shuttle services to move around.
