What To Do in Puerto Morelos

There is water everywhere in Puerto Morelos. Reef snorkeling and diving is in a protected marine park on the second largest reef in the world.

Cenote Road is full of cenotes. We recently checked out Kin Ha cenote that has over 12 explored cenotes in one location. Woo hoo! If you take the less expensive package at Kin Ha you will see two cenotes. If you opt for their full day package you will explore more cenotes on ATV’s.

The Botanical Gardens are at the entrance to the town and Crococun Interactive Zoo , just past the town entrance off Hwy 307, is a great activity for the entire family.

If you are looking for an off the beach experience, The Little Mexican Cooking School is a favored activity. From 9:30 am to 3:30 pm you will be sweep off your food feet by Chef Salvatore. He takes you on an incredible historical, cultural and food journey using local ingredients on every plate, spoon and fork.

If you find yourself in Puerto Morelos in the evening, the town square overlooking the Caribbean is a constant source of entertainment. You may see local dancers, artisans, acrobats, or a play put on by local children. This is one of the most active town squares on the coast.

Where to Eat in Puerto Morelos

Well this is a question without an easy answer. With over 80 restaurants in Puerto Morelos, there are a host of choices and a host of great choices. Just off the town square and down two of the main streets you will find the popular Chimichuri, Sabores de Mexico, Richard’s , La Sirena and more.

If you want a great breakfast check out La Cocina, El Nicho or the Little Mexican Cooking school for Saturday Brunch.

La Playita and Merkatito have beach side tables and great ceviche.

In the Colonia across the highway, there are another host of great restaurants and little taco places.

The choices are endless, the food delicious. Restaurants are ‘food proud’ in Puerto Morelos and it shows!
