And the cannons displayed on the property were among Don’s famous finds from wrecked Spanish ships off the Quintana Roo’s Caribbean coastline. In fact, the artifacts in Cannon House are so important that they paved the way for the creation of the CEDAM or the Conservation, Exploration, Diving, Archeology, and Museums, founded by Don Pablo. Other finds by Don Pablo and his group are on display at a CEDAM museum in Puerto Aventuras, some fifteen minutes north of Akumal.
