Description

A Private, Family Vacation Home On The Sea In Aventuras Akumal

The sparkly Caribbean waters never failed to attract millions of visitors every year. However, nowadays more and more people prefer tranquility and relaxation to the upbeat vibe that many Mexican cities are known for.

If you are one of the people, who appreciates luxury accommodations by the quieter, more private spots of the Mayan Riviera, then you will be interested to learn more about one of the most popular family vacation rentals Casa Salvaje.

This oceanfront villa is on the beach in Aventuras Akumal.

The Design Transcends Between the Modern and the Tropical

The property of Casa Salvaje includes a two-story villa and three additional guesthouses ‘casitas’ that provide accommodations for larger groups of guests.

The main house of Casa Salvaje consists of a roomy kitchen, airy living room, elegant dining room for 10 people and four ample bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms and a glass door either leading to a private terrace upstairs or the beachside pool deck on the first floor.

It is worth mentioning that three out of the four bedrooms face the Caribbean, while one bedroom faces the lush green garden. If you happen to get the garden view, don’t worry! You will be the one admiring the mesmerizing tropical sunsets and taking pictures of the sun disappearing into the Yucatan Jungle.

Three additional casitas provide plenty of space for a maximum of 18 guests, making Casa Salvaje an ideal choice for family celebrations and large groups of friends traveling together.

Get Ready for Lots to Do Outdoors – Activities are Endless

The stylish beachfront pool and the white pool deck with the Caribbean as a backsplash have been designed as an ideal place for swimming and relaxation. If you are looking forward to soaking up the sun, then head towards the sandy stretch in front of the house and pick one of the lounges that offer the best view of Aventuras Akumal Bay.

Or you can learn why Riviera Maya is known around the world for its scuba diving and snorkeling spots. In fact, you don’t have to go far to explore the majestic beauty of the coral reef and exotic flora and fauna. Some of the best snorkeling stops are right outside your door.

Spending your vacation at the graceful white Casa Salvaje means leaving work stress, household duties, frustrating traffic jams behind and embracing peace, tranquility and the care-free lifestyle of a Mayan paradise.

After all, life is short. So why postpone living it to the fullest? Add this vacation rental to your inquiry list, and let us know if you want just the main villa or all of the bedrooms that host up to 18 people.

Perfect stay, beautiful house and ground. Fantastic staff

Our stay was perfect! House and grounds were beautiful. We went in the “sea weed” season but it was not a problem at all! Air conditioning was great in the bedrooms. House keeper and gardener were fantastic. The area was beautiful and we felt safe. We rented cars and had one group picked up from the airport without any problems. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much!

We had already heard great things about Casa Salvaje and had to find out for ourselves. We all had such a great time. Nothing compares to the beach access we had to ourselves. Beach time along with snorkeling during the day and enjoyed our evenings in pool.

My Framily (close friends & family) decided to be out of the country for the 4th of July due to a catastrophic event in 2023. We are a large group of 15. This was the perfect place for us. The 7 bedrooms and bathrooms gave each family a place to retreat to when needed for naps, etc. The commons area easily handled all of us together for meals, board games, movies, etc. The view is breathtaking!!!

The water is so clear and beautiful most days! On storm days it was a little darker but still beautiful.

With another crazy experience for this 4th of July, Hurricane Beryl was barreling down on us, the host made sure we were up to date on our options and helped us through the whole process.

Our flights were canceled due to the hurricane and we were allowed to stay until the airport reopened and we could fly home.

We watched the turtles lay eggs at night, swam with the turtles, visited the turtle sanctuary, and watched the baby turtles make a mad dash to the sea just as the hurricane began coming into our location. It was an amazing experience!

We visited the Mayan ruins of Coba-Ha. The guide we had was a wealth of information—such a cool thing to get to see.

Unfortunately, we could not visit Xel-Ha due to the hurricane or the Cenotes. We will be back to experience these amazing sites.

Margarite (Spelling?) lived in an apartment at the front of the property and was amazing at helping us obtain food, crank the generator, etc. She is such a sweet lady.

Things went off the rails but with all the nice people helping, the staff, the electric company, Margarite, etc. our visit was amazing despite Mother Nature's Hurricane Beryl.

We highly recommend staying at this gorgeous property. We plan to be back soon and this may become a frequent place to visit.

I can't give this property enough praise. My family and I rented the entire home June 22- June29,2024. The house is beautiful. The beach is all sand and beautiful as well. There was 14 in our party. We had plenty of room. Daily housekeeper and groundskeeper were provided. Please tip them well because they do a great job. I highly recommend this home if you are looking to relax and enjoy the beach. A cool beach bar is just down from the house. We snorkeled right off of our beach. Just a reminder there is only AC in the bedrooms. However we were all very comfortable.

This is our 4 year in a row renting Casa Salvaje. We can’t recommend it enough, especially for families with kids. The pool and beach are so stunning and perfect to entertain a family. Access to sea kayaks is a bonus! The care takers, Betty & Arullio, are so kind and keep the property spotless. We highly recommend booking a chef through Jorge, the property manager too. We will be back next year!

Very pleased with the house and the location. The gardener and the housekeeper were great; did a excellent job of keeping the grounds and house clean without causing any disruption. Can not comment on the management company as we had no interaction with them. Be aware that coming down the stairs from the bedrooms located on the second floor can be tricky for older people as handrail does not extend all the way to the top of the stairs. The house was in a great location for restaurants and other sights including seeing loggerhead turtles that come upon the beach at night to lay eggs, which was amazing. Highly recommend the house, we had a fantastic time.

Perfect vacation for our family of 15 (ages 11-75). Everything was wonderful. Great location, house, and staff. We asked so many questions before and after arrival and they always got back to us right away! We felt safe and spoiled by the staff. We were there during the “seaweed” season but it wasn’t a problem at all! The gardener raked the beach daily and we enjoyed the ocean! Many pool and sand toys to use. We hired Chef Daveed and the food was spectacular. We would definitely visit again!

We were there during the “seaweed” season but it wasn’t a problem at all! The gardener raked the beach daily and we enjoyed the ocean! Many pool and sand toys to use. We hired Chef Daveed and the food was spectacular. We would definitely visit again!

Manager's Response

Hi Julie,

We are so thrilled to hear that you and your family had a wonderful stay at Casa Salvaje! It brings us great joy to know that you felt safe and well taken care of by our staff, and that you enjoyed Chef Daveed's food. We are especially glad that the seaweed season didn't stop you from enjoying the ocean and that our beach and pool toys provided you with plenty of fun. We look forward to welcoming you back to Casa Salvaje in the future!

This was our third time at Casa Salvaje, and we're definitely booking again for next year. We love this house, the beach and Akumal. It's perfect for several families with kids when you add on the garden suites. Betty, the housekeeper, and Aurelio, the gardner, are the kindest people and we look forward to see them annually. It truly is a hidden gem!

Also, Jorge, the house manager is quick to respond and fix any issues. This year we had a little problem with water pressure and they fixed it asap.

I was pleasantly surprised with the security and upkeep of the property. It was centrally located to many attractions and was on a quiet section of a great beach. With on onsite nighttime security guard, we always felt secure and the property was regularly maintained by the housekeeper and maintenance person.

There were many nearby cenotes but I could recommend the Rio Secreto as it was a well preserved cenote and had great, safe and attentive guides.

Our party of 11 (9 adults 2 children) had a wonderful time on the property. David held our hand throughout the booking process. The chef was amazing. Betty made sure the inside was thoroughly cleaned daily. The groundsman (sorry I forgot his name) made sure the pool and outside of the property was cleaned. Then our “security” guy always met us at the entrance. There was enough space for everyone to gather and also have privacy. We were literally right on the beach. Everyone loved it. The road leading to the property is super dark bumpy so be careful coming in. They property provides bottled water in all the bathrooms since we cannot drink the water. Betty offered to wash clothes. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. You definitely need a rental car to get around. There is a cute beach bar about 2-3 doors down. Everything was perfect for our week long stay. Thank you.

We loved our stay at this beautiful house right on the beach! What a great place to be with family. The house was perfect for our large group, and we spent many hours swimming, sitting by the pool and on the beach. Having the Beached Bikini Bar just down the beach was perfect for easy meals. The property managers were incredible in helping us plan excursions, transportation, and catered meals. Betty and Aurelio kept the place in tip-top shape and super clean every day. The location is pretty isolated, so you’ll be needing taxis. My recommendation is to agree on a price with the taxi driver prior to the ride, and pay separately for each leg. They’ll charge you for waiting in between rides if you aren’t careful! Otherwise everything was fantastic! I would definitely recommend this house!

We stayed at Casa Salvaje for the first week of November and it was fantastic! There were 5 couples and plenty of room. It was so clean and was cleaned every week day from top to bottom. The beach is beautiful, and you can swim right out to the reef for some of the best snorkeling ever. We actually saw baby turtles that hatched on the beach one night. The gardener cut down coconuts for us to drink one morning. We hired the chef to do dinner for us 2 of the nights and wish we would have done more. We really enjoyed our day at Xplor and our trip to the ruins in Coba. Everyone agreed that having a pool and beach with snorkeling right there to use anytime was the highlight.

We had a great time staying at Casa Salvaje. The caretakers did a very good job keeping everything neat and clean and making quick repairs when needed. Keeping up with the sargassum was a monumental task, but handled with a smile. Access to the pool is limited to going around the side of the house, or passing through one or another of two bedrooms. This isn't always the most convenient thing. Everything we needed was in the house, making it very comfortable for everyone. Plenty of room for our group of 12. Snorkeling was terrific, but the beach bar down the way was frequently overwhelmed so eating there was difficult. Altogether, we would rent again if the price was right.

We stayed at Casa Salvaje for one week. The house exceeded our expectations! It is absolutely beautiful! The house is large and spacious, no stone was unturned in term of attention to detail. We were a group of 9, including 7 kids ages 15 - 24, everyone loved the place! The pool is great, and there is no beating the close beach access. Bring your snorkel gear and dive right in, steps from the house. Betty and Aurelio were lovely and helpful. There is a cute little bar/restaurant a short 5 minute walk on the beach that we enjoyed a few times for happy hour. One thing to know is that you do need a car to drive into town but it's a quick trip. Recommend renting a car if you stay here. We would definitely stay there again! Love, love the house and it's location!

We could not be happier with this rental, the company, the staff, the location, each and every factor contributed to an extremely happy group and a truly lovely vacation experience.

To start, we actually had another property booked and when due to COVID-19 that owner took the property off the market, Akumal Direct, the management company offered us Casa Salvaje at the same price, which was superb customer service and candidly a great deal. During all the rebooking and communications Katie and the team @ Akumal Direct went above and beyond. They were timely, courteous and clear in all their communication.

As for the house itself, it is in amazing shape, the location is superb, and if I might say Aurelio the groundskeeper and Betty the housekeeper were kind, very hardworking and also unobtrusive. Betty was actually a saint if we are being honest, if you stay please DO NOT FORGET TO TIP THEM GENEROUSLY. We actually did not need or desire Betty to clean everyday so we asked for an every other day situation which worked well. The rooms, the bathrooms, the kitchen and living room are all amazingly well stocked, with the casita perfect. The private beach is unreal and we had some excellent recommendations for local food and services like a fishing trip with Sweet Willy which was 1/4 the cost of other outfits. We were a group of singles so we each had a room which was amazing, but this house is equally as good a fit for an extended family with kids, or couples. Plenty of bathrooms and amenities. They had bath towels to spare, pool toys, beach chairs, a fully stocked kitchen, refilled water cooler every day. Aurelio even cut us coconuts. The snorkeling in the reefs right off the beach is majestic.

TL:DR the property is even better than described, extremely clean and well maintained and the service from management was impeccable. The recommendations and location of local activities like Coba, Tulum, Valladolid, Cenotes, grocery stores and more is ha

3 Generation (14 people) Superb Reunion! All house facilities and Staff superb. Access to nearby activities easy. Plenty of space and bedrooms since we had the House and 3 Casitas together. Played a lot of games in the evening on the tables outside by the pool. The kayak paddles were not in good condition/bent...need replacing. Another suggestion: seal the manhole on the walkway to avoid the occasional sewer odor. American grandpa recommends a dishwasher installed.

We love love LOVE this place! The beachfront property is very well groomed and so relaxing. The groundskeeper even raked our sand in the morning! House and pool are very well maintained and has all the amenities you could want. You can cook and/or barbecue yourself, or have someone come in and cook for you. We had Fillipe come two times to cook for us and it was fabulous! He's a great cook - authentic food cooked for you along with the cleanup as well. WiFi is included as well as Netflex, although we spent more time out on the beach than in the house. Canoes, lifejackets and pool toys are available and we used them well. The snorkeling off the beach is wonderful. There are a wide variety fish in the reef and I found a large sand dollar while snorkeling right out the back of the house! The house has on-site security guards and we felt safe at the house as the guards were there promptly in the evening and stayed all night. The groundskeeper, Auerullio, came every morning as well as the house keeper, Betty, who kept the house spotless and sand-free. She is very diligent and provides fresh linens daily. We WILL be returning to Casa Salvaje. A safe haven close to many attractions felt like its own resort. Best Mexico vacation spot!

Where to start... We were 9 in total. 2 teenagers, 2 toddlers, 5 adults House is fabulous. Location is 10/10. We have stayed at the Grand Oasis before which is very close so knew the area. We rented it and the 3 casitas but only used 1 casita (upper) and 3 (3 with on-suites) rooms in the house. Beds were good, AC was good, in rooms but main house got hot. All the utensils you could need and many left over seasonings and small things like coffee filters were there. We contributed to the stash with leftover items. House comes with netflix which was nice. TV could use an upgrade but was fine. Extra large dinning table and sitting spaces. House also had a stash of water stuff like life jackets, kayaks, boogie boards, etc. Pool was great and well used. Beach is fantastic with its own shade palapa and lounge chairs. The 3 workers (Grounds, guard, maid) were fantastic and friendly. Cant say enough about how great they were. we had some issues with a water pump that they addresses in a very timely manner so we felt well attended to. Beach is to die for. White sand, calm mostly, great snorkeling right out front. Saw turtles, coral, a HUGE manta ray, fish, etc. There were turtle nests all along the beach and we got to see and help with 3 hatchings! 1 in a million experience. Hundreds of little guys heading out for the sea! Road to house is fine, not sure what others are talking about and there are 4? parking spaces. We did rent cars for 3 days and had no issues. We would come back again (we plan on it for sure!) Tips: You can get day passes at teh grand oasis next door for 520p adults and 300p for young teens and small kids were free! 9a - 6p. We took advantage of this for several days when we didnt want to cook, and the kids loved all the extra pools at the resort. We also rented our cars here. 55/day USD for a 4 door sedan with all insurance. Great thing about that is its easy to return as we didnt want a car all week. We used USA transfers for airport to house and back. Have used them 5+ times and they are always on point. They know the house so it was perfect. They even stop at walmart on way to house to get all the stuff you need. The house has a great weber gas grill. We used this several times (no grill brush that we could find but tried our best with crunched up tin foil) so grill away!

We stayed here with 6 adults and 7 children. It was perfect to accommodate us all. We loved that it was right on the beach and had easy access into the water. (Not a rocky bottom that you sometimes get with some houses) We had some issues with the air conditioners working the whole time but those were taken care of promptly. The main living area could use an air conditioner as it gets pretty hot and there is no cross breeze to help. Regardless we all had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this property.

Casa Salvaje is one of our favorite villas to rent is Q. Roo!Right now there is construction at the resort next door and there are some noise issues with hammering and sawing. The properties to the other side are not rented and have some garbage on the beach. The road to and from this property is horrible!!!

Everything was fabulous! The home accommodated my family of 13 with ease. Housekeeper and Grounds keeper kept the place very nice! Beds were comfortable. It was real nice having the pool, something I didnt think we would really use given we were on the beach. The beach at the house was wonderful, but there are rocks in the water so water shoes were needed to go in. We loved walking down the beach so we tended to play in the water down the beach were there was less sea weed and rocks. We didnt have a rental car, so we had to organize rides everywhere we went. We soon figured out we could order up a taxi van from the resort next door. Taxi rides were expensive, so in the end we wonder if we would have been better off renting a van for the week. The beach restaurant just steps down from the house is good. Cooking at the house worked, but the oven is old and was a bit challenging. Casa Salvaje is a nice home and we had a memorable week there! Thank you.

We were very impressed with Loco Gringo. We had heard some real horror stories about rentals so we thoroughly investigated before we committed. Our experience was absolutely wonderful. Everything we were told was accurate.

We were a group of 6 families (with 10 kids who ranged in age from 1-5). We had an incredible time at Casa Salvaje and are already planning a return trip. The pool and beach area were spectacular, and each of the rooms were a very generous size with private bathrooms.

Best location on the beach, snorkeling right out front. Close to restaurants in Akumal.

We loved this house! The Beach cant be beat! The rooms were clean and we loved that each room had its own bathroom. We used all 7 Bedrooms and everyone slept comfortably with the AC units in each room in the muggy June air. The staff worked hard every day and we appreciated that. We also used the pool often. We would recommend this house to anyone!

We have rented many properties in Akumal over past 17 years through Loco Gringo. All of them are in a great condition and Loco Gringos services are the best. This was our 4th or 5th stay in Casa Salvaje and it was fantastic as always.

We stayed at Casa Salvaje with 2 other couples (6 people total). We were very comfortable and even had a large room unused with 2 queen beds, could have fit more people very comfortably. We had so much fun cooking delicious meals and sharing together on the patio. The pool was clean and refreshing. The beach beautiful and just steps away. The sand was free of rocks and entering the water it was not too difficult to avoid the scattered large rocks. Snorkeling was great just off shore and many other sites nearby. We had everything we needed and then some. The daily cleaning and cooking staff did a wonderful job and helped us with any needs from hospitality to local attractions. Even opened fresh coconuts for us to drink poolside. I would give the staff 6 stars. The only thing that needs fix is the safe in the bedroom was out of battery, otherwise we would have used. We notified the staff and its probably fixed by now. It did feel like a secure home and relatively safe area.
