There are ample opportunities to enjoy and experience the sparkling, turquoise water and white, sandy beach of the Caribbean in this sweeping, three-story, six-bedroom, six-bathroom, villa nestled in the heart of Akumal’s Half Moon Bay.

Listen to the tranquil, ocean waves while reading a book or lazing on one of the chic sun loungers on the back terrace, swimming in the expansive pool, indulging in an afternoon nap on the hammock of your private balcony, or relishing a sumptuous meal with friends and family. In addition, all rooms, including the bathrooms, also provide a princely view of the ocean.

Swim, snorkel, and splash in the water for a more direct experience of the pleasures of the Caribbean. If you come between May and October during the turtle season, you might even see the hatching of the turtles for which Akumal is world-famous.

This villa is a great option for families, couples, and groups of friends who desire a lush, private tropical escape from the ordinary.

This beach vacation house rental comfortably accommodates up to 14 lucky guests within its expansive three stories. The ground floor is accessible for persons with disabilities.

Villa Azure has six bedrooms, including two master suites, and six en-suite bathrooms. All bedrooms and bathrooms have gorgeous, oceanfront views. Wi-Fi is included throughout the house.

Five of the six bedrooms also have a king-size bed. One bedroom comprises two, queen-size beds. Additional sleeping options include a trundle bed and a sofa bed.

Each spacious and airy bedroom includes an en suite bathroom with a shower, air conditioning, ceiling fans, a Smart TV with cable television, a safety deposit box, and access to a furnished, private terrace.

The villa's airy, modern kitchen includes a suite of state-of-the-art appliances and a separate entrance to hire a private chef to delight you with traditional and innovative takes on Mexican food.

My family and I, a total of 12 people including young children, were incredibly happy at this house. It was very spacious and comfortable, and fit us all very well. The out side area was really nice, had lots of amenities for the pool and ocean, and this made it very enjoyable for our family members of all ages. the staff were super friendly and helpful, and kept the house really clean all week for us. We felt very taken care of.

Preparations thru David were very complete and timely. House staff were great, as was Manager Rhett. Home is beautiful and well supplied with kitchen stuff, paper goods, treated water coolers, pool chairs, 3 kayaks, 6 bikes, etc. Rooms huge, each with own bath and ocean views. Great pool (we had it heated). Beach is rocky till get out a ways, where snorkeling is good. Walkable to stores, restraunts, pharmacy. Safe some reviews indicate, the usual minor issues with ocean front home in Mexico (some furniture a bit worn, doors or windows hard to operate, frig a little temperamental in cooling) but none of these little things spoiled our week. We plan on going here again next year!

We love this location and it is our second time going. Great for a big family trip, with perfect beach and pool views. Love to use the kayaks and snorkel right in the bay in front of the house. Close to restaurants and shops and just a great place for a family trip with small kids.

Villa Fortuna was the perfect place for our group to start our trip. Having walking access to a couple great restaurants and a quick golf cart ride to a bunch of great food was amazing. We loved sitting in the pool and listening to the ocean and the layout made it easy for people to get rest upstairs, or people to party the night away downstairs at the same time. The fridge is huge and we cooked a beautiful Wahoo fish dinner that we caught the day before. La Buena vida was one of our favorite food spots, and the jungle cafe was the best place for breakfast and coffee/juices. The management was a quick email or whatsapp message away always and set up tons of taxis and massages pretty much anything we could need. LOVED IT

Villa Fortuna was the ideal spot for our 2023 family vacation. All six bedrooms are beautiful and feature a complete, unobstructed ocean view, so everyone was happy, including the couple staying in the downstairs bedroom, who mentioned the windows provided sufficient soundproofing when other guests continued to hang out by the pool or common areas. Akumal Direct and Locogringo helped us plan fun activities during our stay, from private yoga lessons and on-site chef service to a beach club day on Akumal Bay.

If you are looking for a dreamy vacation don’t look any further! This house is beautiful and comfortable, and the location is just amazing. We were 8 adults and 5 kids under 5 and we had an amazing time. Ruth and Carlos kept the house clean and organized. The beach is sandy, but when you get in the water it is a little rocky which is fine as long as you bring water shoes (the house has some spare ones as well). You can swim just a couple of meters away from the shore, and you’ll find many different reefs with all types of marine life - we were lucky to see turtles, rays and all kinds of fish. We hired chef daveed for most meals and it was great to not worry about cooking and the food they cooked was just so delicious! You also have a couple good restaurants a just a few minutes away by foot. And you are just a few minutes drive from “downtown” akumal.

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Fortuna. Our extended family of 8 (four adults, four kids under 4) stayed for week and loved every minute. The location is perfect -- close to coffee shops and restaurants, close to an amazing cenote, and best of all, perfect pool and beach location for the kids. The house itself is spacious and comfortable with views everywhere. The staff was amazing!

Our 3 generation family chose the Villa Fortuna vacation home in October of 2022 for a vacation. We had a great time. The home was very spacious and the web description is accurate. The home felt very safe in the gated community of Akamal. The highlight of the trip was a launch of baby turtles on the first night on the beach next to the home. We rented golf carts to facilitate moving around the Akamal community.
Pros: the sum of the outdoor seating for all meals, adjacent to the pool, which was next to the ocean. Fantastic for the grandkids and adults to bounce between the pool and the beach.
Cons: The house does not have a dishwasher, lots of dishes to wash by hand.
Information: The ocean is difficult for entry due to broken coral, but the snorkeling from the beach is good once one slowly navigates into the ocean.
Communication with the property management staff was very easy and prompt (Rhett and David).

semaine de rêve avec nos enfants et petits enfants. la maison est très vaste et bien aménagée. Les chambres sont immenses et ont toute un grand balcon coté mer. Propreté sans faille partout dans la maison. Carlos et Ruth sont très attentifs à nos demandes. Quelques appareils étaient non fonctionnels mais ont été rapidement remplacés. La seule déception que nous avons eu est la quantité d'algues sur la plage, c'est très désagréable et ca sent mauvais malgré qu'à tous les jours un homme peinait à tout ramasser sans y parvenir. Par contre, aussitôt cet amas d'algue traversé, nous nous retrouvons dans une eau cristalline, chaude et pleine de découvertes: poissons tortues et coquillages sur une très grande surface. Durant notre séjour, une tortue est venue pondre sur notre plage. Très belle semaine mémorable pour chacun de notre groupe de 13.

This was my first time staying in a property like this with a large party. I was extremely happy to have everything in place upon my arrival. For example, I ordered groceries and they were received the day of. I also ordered Chef Luis Martinez food preparation services with his assistant Erendira. That was an expense that was well worth the cost considering that they take care of all clean up and shopping for items. The house staff helped us with getting the kayaks and turning the power on in the early morning so we could get water running. The staff who manage the property were always in communication with me leading up to my stay. That's how I was able to coordinate most of the big ticket items prior to my arrival. There was additional info at the property in case I needed to reach them outside of business hours. And that was great to know since we did need their help with the power shut off. The seaweed was present on the beach front, but it didn't take away from the beauty of what was all around us. I am really happy with the entire experience and feel extremely lucky to have experienced Akumal. A pueblito that has the right amount of adventure, relaxation and shops.

We traveled as a multi-generational family. We enjoyed the numerous amenities this house provided. Lovely location right on the beach yet the yard and pool area seems very private. We biked and carted around the area and relied on transportation provided by the rental agency. David was great to work with. The food service was also a nice option... we hired Daveed's chefs twice and enjoyed the meals immensely. We used some of the house equipment -- floating devices, yard toys, life jackets for the cenote, kayak, etc. The beach is rocky, but lovely.

Things to note: There are neighbours and it is beachfront so people walk by the pool area frequently. But it's right on the beach! Also you need water shoes as it's rocky - but that means you can snorkel right off the beach.

we were a family of nine that have traveled many times together with each other usually in all inclusive resorts. we enjoyed the common area of the house where we could all meet and visit and play cards. my husband and I love to cook but the kitchen could use some updates. The stove was difficult to light and the flame is quite low much like a camping stove. The grill was not much better. The knives used for chopping were all rather doll and difficult to use. We quickly decided that cooking at the home was not that feasible so we utilize the local restaurants. The bikes seem quite dated. The kayaks we had to go rob Peter to pay Paul as far as the plugs go call me back home . The beach itself is sandy and nice but once you hit the water you’re walking on very rough rocks making it somewhat untenable to snorkel right off the beach. The snorkeling gear at the house is rather old and dated. I guess the one thing that caught me the most off guard was at the house came with housekeeping services which I was not aware of and the tipping guidelines that weren’t spelled out from the onset. Carlos and Ruth were lovely people and very helpful and accommodating and the place was kept very clean. Location was great we were by several restaurants that we enjoyed. So the pros were we got to spend time together in a closer proximity then hotels afford. The cons or the suggestions were that the house needs updates the outdoor furniture is in disrepair and the cushions on the outdoor furniture were very worn. we felt very safe in Akumal. hope this review is helpful as the intention was to provide realistic feedback to manage expectations when renting this property.

We had a truly wonderful experience at Villa Fortuna and Akumal direct. The home is spacious and ideally situated -- a short and lovely bike ride or golf cart ride to town. The daily housekeeping services were exemplary and Ruth y Carlos were helpful in making sure the house and grounds were kept spotless.

We used Chef Daveed and his team for a handful of meals during our stay and our only regret was not using them more! From blended margaritas to handmade tortillas, each meal, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner was absolutely delicious.

While the location of the villa, housekeeping and chef services were all A+, there were some things that could be improved. The outdoor lounge chairs were in poor shape and the side entrance to the house should be tidied up when there are house guests. The bikes that come with the house are rusty and old, but served their purpose. Overall, this villa served us well (9 adults, 2 children) and we loved our stay in Akumal very much.

We had a truly wonderful experience at Villa Fortuna and Akumal direct. The home is spacious and ideally situated -- a short and lovely bike ride or golf cart ride to town. The daily housekeeping services were exemplary and Ruth y Carlos were helpful in making sure the house and grounds were kept spotless. A M A Z I N G. Villa Fortuna was great for our 12 guests. Two delicious restaurants close by and the chef service is definitely worth it! We rented a golf cart for a few days and used that to go into town, the ladies went to the spa - it was fabulous! We spent a day in Tulum (20 - 30 minute drive) which was awesome, as well as a yacht charter also outside of Tulum. This location is perfect for privacy and quiet enjoyment of the beach, while being close enough to go into Tulum and other surrounding areas as you wish. The house staff were kind and very helpful. The house was great - comfortable beds, great A/C, plenty of space! Came stocked with more than we expected in terms of kitchen ware. The grocery delivery service also rocks! Made our lives so much easier. Would recommend this house to any groups in the 10 - 14 person range! Lagoons and cenotes are also close by, or you can adventure out and explore cenotes further away - all super easy! We had no concerns with safety and everyone in our group had the best time.

Where do I begin? My family and I had the most amazing time at this villa. Everything from the house managers to our private chefs were first class. The pictures don't do it justice. We will be back!!

Our vacation was amazing at Casa Fortuna. The pool is the perfect size and right overlooking the ocean. The house was immaculate. I highly recommend the chef service. We had lunches and dinners cooked and it turned from a beach vacation into a culinary vacation. The house is spacious and modern with tasteful decor. The rooftop deck was perfect for star gazing at night. Large family sing tables both inside and out. The family that caretakers the house do an amazing job. If you need anything they go above and beyond to make sure you’re taken care of and comfortable. Another great thing is that between the solar panels and generator, when electricity was down for the community for a couple days we didn’t even notice. Also, water in the community was turned off for a day or so and again because this house converts seawater into fresh water, we didn’t even notice. There were a few detractors. First, the seaweed problem is bad right now. It made the beaches pretty much unusable and although they spray for the smell it still leaves an unpleasant aroma. This appears to be a problem this year throughout the Caribbean (Florida, Cuba, Jamaica, Cancun etc). However snorkeling in the bay is still gorgeous. Also, make sure to wear shoes in the house, the tiles can be VERY slippery. Finally, the stove can be a little temperamental making it difficult to cook. However once you get the hang of it, it’s a minor inconvenience.

5 nights with 4 adult couples, stayed end of January 2021. House was very clean, Ruth and Carlos were great making sure everything was picked up and perfect! Very safe area, golf cart rental was a must. Groceries delivered before our arrival was a must! Beach is rocky, need shoes to walk along or swim!

This home has everything you could possibly want. It is well maintained, beautifully decorated, and just perfect in so many ways. We were a group of 10 on our annual girls trip and we all loved this house! We finally found a home that met all our needs and we hope to return each year for more fabulous stays here.
